Shapeshifters
We first saw the Shapeshifters in FIFA 20 and again in FIFA 22, so we know what mechanics the campaign will bring when it returns to FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.
Selected promoted players will receive the usual massive boost, but their cards will also change, with player positions, work rates, weak foot abilities, and updated attributes all altered to better suit their new positions.
Two Shapeshifters squads were released in FUT 20 and then doubled to four in FUT 22, so we expect to see another expansion event this time around.
Each team will offer a certain number of target players, as well as SBCs that appear throughout the campaign, some of which contain double-option player bonuses.
FUT Heroes also got a promotion last year and even the leagues changed, so watch out for this happening again, Alternate Reality Icons are finally in the game and renamed to Shapeshifters Icons!

The first two Shapeshifter cards were released before the sale actually started, and are available through Season Seven Rewards! they are:

Premium Shapeshifters Chemistry
There's also a Premium Shapeshifters version added to the game, which works in a similar way to the FUTTIES Premium items we saw last year.
Players who earn FUTTIES Premium cards in FUT 22 have the same chemical bond as FUT Heroes and can therefore form strong bonds with players in the same league.
Here's what's shown on the latest loading screen, suggesting that Premium Shapeshifters items will have the same chemistry as FUT Heroes.
This means that if played in the designated position, the card will always be in full chemistry, while also providing bonus league chemistry points!
